Simple setup

Install your eSIM in minutes

Follow the steps for your device, scan the QR code from your eSIMChain order and connect when you arrive at your destination.

Open your delivery emailYour QR code and activation details are included in the eSIM delivery page.
Use stable internetConnect to Wi-Fi before downloading and installing the eSIM profile.
Do not delete itMost eSIM profiles cannot be reinstalled after they have been removed.

Install on iPhone or iPad

Menu names may vary slightly depending on your iOS version.

iOS setup

Open Cellular settings

Go to Settings, select Cellular or Mobile Service, then tap Add eSIM.

Scan your QR code

Select Use QR Code and scan the QR code shown on your eSIMChain delivery page. If both are on the same phone, open the QR code on another screen.

Label and activate the plan

Name the new line Travel or eSIMChain. Keep your primary line for calls and select the new eSIM for mobile data when you reach your destination.

Data roaming normally needs to be enabled for the travel eSIM. Keep roaming disabled on your primary SIM to avoid unexpected carrier charges.

Install on Android

The exact wording differs across Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi and other manufacturers.

Open SIM settings

Go to Settings, then open Connections, Network & Internet or SIM Manager. Choose Add eSIM or Add mobile plan.

Scan the QR code

Choose the QR code option and scan the code from your delivery page. You can also enter the activation code manually when your device offers that option.

Select the travel eSIM for data

Turn on the new plan, set it as your preferred mobile data SIM and enable data roaming for that eSIM after arriving at your destination.

On Samsung devices, the path is commonly Settings → Connections → SIM manager. On Pixel devices, it is commonly Settings → Network & internet → SIMs.

Before you travel

Installing the profile before departure makes activation much easier. Complete these checks while you still have reliable internet access.

Confirm your device is eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked.
Install the profile, but activate mobile data only when the plan should begin.
Save the installation page and activation details for reference.
